A Little About Me—and Why So Many People Succeed

Welcome. My name is Curt Skene, and I created the Career Network Club because I hated watching good, capable people lose their jobs and then have to face everything that followed alone.

I saw people lose their homes, experience incredible life changes and struggle with fear, uncertainty and a loss of confidence. These were experienced professionals who had worked hard, built successful careers and done everything they thought they were supposed to do. Suddenly, they were left trying to navigate one of the most difficult periods of their lives without the guidance, support or connections they needed.

I knew there had to be a better way.

My career has always centred on helping people succeed. While working with Microsoft Canada, I helped grow its training business from approximately $800,000 to more than $54 million in less than ten years. I also became the worldwide founder of Microsoft Skills 2000, an employment initiative that helped tens of thousands of people prepare for and secure careers in information technology. Along the way, I received two worldwide awards for sales and service excellence.

However, what matters most to me is not the awards or the numbers. It is seeing someone regain their confidence, recognize their value and get back to work before a difficult situation becomes a personal or financial crisis.

People succeed while working with me because I combine genuine support with honest, practical direction. I help them build a focused job-search strategy, become stronger networkers, prepare more effectively for interviews and clearly communicate the value they bring to an employer.

I will encourage you, but I will also challenge you. If something is holding you back, we will address it. If your approach is not producing results, we will change it. We will not leave your future to chance.

My goal is not simply to help you find another job. It is to help you move forward with confidence, purpose and a plan—and to make certain you do not have to face this journey alone.
